STUART BLAKE
Always an avid drawer, Stuart went straight from school into his tattooing apprenticeship where he honed his skills in a variety of styles. He has spent the last decade in a busy street shop developing a broad skill set. Originally, Stuart was focused on colour work and neo-traditional. But he has evolved and developed, and is now known for his soft black and grey work, characterised by its stylised realism and illustrative quality.
Stuart’s attention to detail lends itself well to realistic pieces, but also carries across into his black and grey renditions of more traditional tattoo subjects. His favourite subject matter to tattoo includes animals and flowers, and you can see the common stylistic elements in his tattooing and illustration work whether it be a portrait or a classic like daggers and eagles.
